My name is Matt Shuham, and I am an experienced national reporter with a track record of holding power to account and telling complex stories with care.
Across more than a decade as a journalist, I have covered U.S. politics, the criminal legal system, immigration enforcement, voting rights, the federal workforce, extremism, and the media. My work has been nominated for awards from the Writers Guild of America and the Deadline Club.
I was most recently a senior national reporter at HuffPost, where I spent four years. Prior to joining HuffPost in 2022, I was a reporter at Talking Points Memo, the associate editor of The National Memo, a Rolling Stone intern, and managing editor of the student-run Harvard Political Review. I grew up in Cooper City, Florida and live in Queens, New York. I am a proud union member.
